Reports: Vince McMahon personally responsible for poor RAW After Mania; back in charge of WWE creative

The RAW After WrestleMania, a programme that is usually a highlight of the WWE calendar, has upset wrestling fans and it seems that Vince McMahon is to blame. Hours after WrestleMania ended, McMahon declared on Monday morning that he had sold a majority ownership in WWE to Endeavor. McMahon stated he will still be active in WWE’s creative side, just not on a day-to-day basis, in an interview with CNBC.

McMahon was directly accountable for the poor creative direction of the show, according to a report from PW Insider, and late rewrites that caused a “negavite shift in morale” throughout the organisation. The following report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightul stated that the Monday Night Raw episode had frustrated the performers.

Fan reaction to the show was mostly negative and this example does not bode well for the creative direction of WWE going forward, especially given the level of excitement and fan engagement with the WWE product since Triple H took over creative in July last year.

Here are some examples of what the wrestling community thought of the show on Twitter:
